COPIAH ANIMAL SHELTER 2022 GALA !!

On Saturday, August 6, 2022, more than 200 adults and children enjoyed a magical evening while raising funds for local area homeless and unwanted animals helped by Copiah Animal Shelter. Little girls dressed in crowns and gowns danced with Cinderella, Jasmine, Ariel, Elsa, Anna, Rapunzel, and others. Little boys in Marvel costumes met their Avengers favorites like Spiderman, Ironman, Captain America, and Tony Stark. 

Autographs were collected, many pictures taken, games played, auction items won, all to raise money for animal care at Copiah Animal Shelter. Kids boogied on the dance floor while parents enjoyed one of Mother Gothel’s signature drinks - Mother’s Little Helper which promised to restore youth and vitality. Entertainment was provided by many enthusiastic karaoke singers of all ages as well as the very talented Lisa Purser and Faith Pennington. Copiah Academy Musical Theatre Troupe provided fantastic Cast members from Peter Pan, Marvel, Aladdin, Snow White, and the Descendants who interacted and delighted the children.

Volunteer table designers decorated each table as a different movie. Bambi and UP seemed to garner the most praise, designed by Ellen James/Marirose Hutchison and Nathan Deaton respectively. UP actually had an incredible floating house over the table suspended by balloons and fishing line! All the tables were so creatively done, many with lights. The colorful and creative Tables were worth the price of admission just to see them!  In addition to the designers mentioned above lending their talents were: Jennifer Deaton, Janice Buckley, Sarah Hunt, Laurie Sullivan, Wendy Gould, Ginnie McCardle, and Kathy Friday.  Enchanting Memories Entertainment brought three princesses for CAS at no charge. Dwight Sullivan DJ’d at no charge.

Copiah Animal Shelter could not put an event on like this with literally no budget without our sponsors and an army of volunteers from bakers, to set up, to kitchen help.  Many, many THANKS TO all of you!

It was an easy decision to make to do this again next year.
